RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Analyst (BA) employed by our clients are generally key roles in the business working both internally and externally with customers. The BA usually works to the Project Manager or Lead, but may also work directly into divisional manager and works collaboratively with other departments and clients. They are normally responsible for: ​

  • Analysis and documentation of business requirements

  • Creating high level and detailed design documentation including user stories, use cases and traceability to business requirements

  • Supporting test function for project deliveries and review of test cases to ensure alignment with design and business requirements

  • Performing internal acceptance testing and documentation of test results

  • Supporting customer’s User Acceptance Testing

  • Investigating and documenting of business, project, product and production issues

  • Assisting in production release related activities such as writing release notes, moving configuration between environments

  • Supporting the scoping, managing and delivery of IT based projects.

  • Performing feasibility assessments and preparing business cases in conjunction with the Project Manager

  • Helping customers define their needs into user requirements specification documents

  • Understanding business requirements to develop and communicate functional design specifications.

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on-time and on-budget by managing the financial aspects of projects.

  • Providing regular communication to customers, management, staff and other stakeholders.

Candidate Profile: ​

We find that successful candidates for project management roles are experienced project management professionals with a track record of delivering complex technology solutions.

  • A team player

  • Attention to detail and quality driven approach to working

  • Strong communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical resources 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritise & ability to scrutinise customer requirements (i.e. business purpose/output) and guide customer to prioritise requirements (collaboratively, using facts & finesse)

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Able to listen actively to all views in particular to those different from own views.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Energetic individual ​

Qualifications and Experience: 

Practical experience is a key requirement for our customers when choosing a business analyst. In addition, they expect:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and /or experience

  • Skilled at Business Analysis (understanding and documenting requirements).

  • At least 2-3 years practical experience in a similar role

  • Strong understanding of BA methodologies and tools to effectively document, track and manage business requirements as well as their traceability throughout the project lifecycle

  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical resources effectively and to be able to run stakeholder meetings

  • Strong documentation and writing skills to document requirements and the design clearly and concisely

  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Visio, Word) and Atlassian products Confluence and Jira

  • Relevant business qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in both Agile and more traditional Project environments.

  • Planning & organisational skills.

  • Expert Time Management skills.
