Position Title: Partnership Manager

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Remuneration: $90K+ AUD (negotiable based on experience & skills)

Industry: Media, Publishing, Digital, Marketing

Position Description:

The Partnership Manager (PM) will be responsible for building market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and building partnerships with existing and prospective clients. As part of a very motivated and passionate team the PM will be working closely with the Publisher optimising commercial results and driving new initiatives. The PM will provide the commercial acumen and drive to make a difference to continue the growth of the business.

Position Accountabilities:

The Partnership Manager will:

  • Achieve their Sales / Revenue budget.

  • Identify and promote new revenue opportunities working with the Publisher from concept to "go-to-market".

  • Developing and implementing a plan to increase native advertising across the platform.

  • In conjunction with the Publisher develop and implement a plan to increase video content, events and webinars, and introduce podcasts to the platform's commercial offering.

  • Providing commercial leadership of the platform they represent.

  • Continuing to help build a positive culture in the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Help the business secure new partners and enrich existing partnerships and achieve set budgets by.

    • Liaising with existing, lapsed and new clients

    • Maintaining a focus on winning new partnerships

    • Coordinating a communications with partners by phone and face-to-face client meetings

    • Timely and effective reporting of revenue and prospective revenue to the Publisher through weekly pipeline reports

    • Involvement with special events associated with the platforms

    • Develop new categories of business

  • Manage and develop key partnerships and industry relationships in consultation with the Publisher.

    • Understand the needs of major clients within the category

    • Meet and exceed (where able) the needs of these clients by establishing clearly defined customer service accountabilities

  • Internal business management and communication

    • Self-manage budget, managing client contractual arrangements and progressing opportunities.

    • Involvement with strategy creation and development of new markets

    • Competitor analysis and market evaluation.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will have a track record of sales and market development, ideally in the media space. The successful candidate will have the following profile:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A good negotiator that understands solution selling.

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.

  • An energetic individual who demonstrates dedication, passion and enthusiasm and brings that with them to work everyday.

  • The PM will be occasionally expected to work longer hours to manage peak times in the business, which is all part of building a flexible and dynamic work place - to work hard when it’s required. Don't worry, we have fun too!

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant academic qualifications and/or industry experience.

  • Partnership development skills.

  • Solution selling.

  • Experience in marketing in the media space and publishing would be advantageous.

  • Planning & organisational skills.

  • Expert Time Management skills.
